Registered Charity Number 1096040. Last update 11 August 2015
In Summer 2010 we were awarded the national Quality Performance Mark (QPM) by Action for Advocacy. We were one of the first 25 schemes in the country to have received the award, and only the third to gain specific recognition for our Independent Mental Capacity Advocacy (IMCA) service.
The award followed a long inspection process. The assessors reviewed our policies and procedures, and spoke with our volunteer and professional advocates, the people they support, and agencies that refer to us.
The assessors found that:
“ Dorset Advocacy appears to be a remarkably effective, focused and empowering organisation with strong community roots and a commitment to accountability.” Quality Performance Mark Assessment Report 2010
Quality Award for Dorset Advocacy
We are delighted with this outcome. You will see the QPM logo on our leaflets and letterheads from now on… and of course on this website!
We took our commitment to excellence further by achieving both the ‘Investors in People’ and ‘Investors in Volunteers’ Standards.
