Dorset Advocacy has over 15 years experience in creating advocacy partnerships with people who have learning difficulties. We offer training to advocacy groups and to voluntary and statutory organisations in the following areas:
Advocacy skills
Principles and practice in speaking up for others.
Non-
Advocating with people whose wishes we cannot easily understand.
Independent Mental Capacity Advocacy (IMCA)
Statutory advocacy for people who lack capacity to make key decisions. How to deliver this new form of advocacy effectively.
Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DOLS)
DOLS offers a number of challenges to IMCA providers and the agencies they work with. This course looks at ways to get the best out of the DOLS IMCA service.
