Who will make the final decision about medical treatment or moving to a care home?

In the case of medical treatment, the final decision will be made by a doctor; for a move to a care home, it will probably be taken by the local authority. However, if the advocate feels that the decision-maker has not listened properly to their report, they can complain to a panel.

IMCA advocates also have the right to ask for a second medical opinion.
