It will be clear from
the volunteer stories in this section how powerful advocacy can be. We know there are many more people who could benefit from having an advocate, but finding advocates is not always easy. So earlier this year we asked Annie Wheatley to prepare a report which would help us to make the public more aware of what we do, and how important advocacy is. One of Annie’s key points was that we should make it clear that whatever skills people have, they can help Dorset Advocacy in its work. So let us say it here first:
People of all ages, and from all walks of life, can make a real difference by offering their time to someone who has a learning difficulty.
