Having a learning disability means that doing the ordinary things in life can be more difficult. It can be hard to understand the things that others take for granted. It can be impossible to get other people to hear you or to take you seriously. Having a learning disability does not stop you from thinking, feeling or making choices.

Dorset Advocacy makes sure that people with a learning disability can speak up to protect their rights, make choices and take a full part in the life of the
community.
We have opportunities for volunteer advocates throughout Dorset. We provide full training and support as well as an active social group.

You need nothing but reliability, honesty, the ability to really listen and to speak up when needed. All we ask is an hour or so a week or whatever you can manage.
|
You can help someone take control of what is, after all, their life.
