Understanding The Family Court System is a 23 page booklet written by parents with learning disabilities to help parents with learning disabilities understand what happens at the Family Court where decisions are made about their children.

The booklet talks about who’s who in court.  There often seem to be lots of different people in the court discussing what should happen to your child.  This book will tell you who they are and what they do.

The booklet also tells you what to expect in court and what parents who have been through the court system themselves feel it is like.

It then tells you about all the different orders that the court might make which affect you and your child.
