Dorset Advocacy has over 13 years experience in creating advocacy partnerships with people who have learning difficulties. We offer training to advocacy groups and to voluntary and statutory organisations in the following areas:

  • Advocacy skills
Principles and practice in speaking up for others.

  • Working with advocacy
An introduction to advocacy for organisations that provide community care services.

  • Non-instructed advocacy
Advocating with people whose wishes we cannot easily understand.

  • Independent Mental Capacity Advocacy (IMCA)
Statutory advocacy for people who lack capacity to make key decisions. How to deliver this new form of advocacy effectively.

Other courses can be tailored to the needs of your organisation. Training costs start at £300 per day plus expenses, though some discounts may be available for small organisations.

To arrange a training session, please call Mike Pochin on 01305 251033
