Citizen Advocacy is one-to-one confidential support from an advocate who may be a
member of our staff team or a trained volunteer. The help they offer is generally
short-term, and will focus on resolving issues that prevent people from making the
most of life. They may have a problem getting services they need, they may be dissatisfied
with a service they receive, or they may be at risk of discrimination or other forms
of harm. The advocate will find out what the person wants, and try to help them
find a solution that is right for them. Advocates can make phone calls on the person’s
behalf, write letters, and attend meetings with the person they are supporting.
