Independent Mental Capacity Advocacy  (IMCA)
 

By law, people who are unable to make decisions about serious medical treatment or a ‘change of accomodation’, and have no-one to speak up for them,  must be referred to their local IMCA service.

 

Dorset Advocacy provide the IMCA service for Bournemouth, Dorset and Poole.

 

Enquiries are made by calling the IMCA hotline on 0845 3891762. We welcome enquiries from anyone; relatives, friends, and staff from hospitals or residential homes. A formal referral must be made by health or social services before we can begin work.
