A citizen advocate is a volunteer who gets to know a person with learning disabilities and helps them to speak up.

Citizen advocates can help people to sort out:

Citizen advocates often share interests with the person they support – for example walking, gardening or shopping. They help people to get to know their local community.

We cannot find volunteers for everyone who wants one, but members of Dorset Advocacy staff can often help to sort out short-term problems.
