  • A citizen advocate is a volunteer who gets to know a person with learning disabilities and helps them to speak up.

  • Citizen advocates can help people to sort out:

  • Money

  • Health

  • Housing

  • Work

    And many other issues

  • Citizen advocates often share interests with the person they support – for example walking, gardening or shopping. They help people to get to know their local community.

  • We cannot find volunteers for everyone who wants one, but members of Dorset Advocacy staff can often help to sort out short-term problems.

Volunteer now – and make a real difference!
